Refractive lens exchange (RLE) is appropriate for individuals aged 50 and above. However, in certain instances, younger patients may also be eligible, especially if they have a glasses prescription that exceeds the typical range for laser eye surgery.

Refractive lens exchange/lens replacement surgery is a procedure that can correct distance, intermediate +/- near vision needs. Using either standard or laser assisted phacoemulsification surgery. The eye’s natural lens will be replaced with an intraocular implant based on your eye’s refractive error and can correct presbyopia.
